Cameron has traveled to museums and galleries around the world. By visiting these places, he has established where his style and work fit in, in a world of art. As a landscape artist, some would be surprised to find that Cameron firmly believes it is essential to study all forms of art, from realism to abstract.
"Studying abstraction has given me the confidence to further simplification in my work. My personal experiences are what pull me back to some form of reality. I continue to study powerful shapes and layered colour creating an exciting textured painting with an abstract base" said Cameron.
As an established artist, Cameron Bird continues to define his career by sharing his love and passion for nature and its wildlife with others, through his vision and art.
A self-taught stone carver of Mohawk descent, Vance Theoret's unique artistic vision captures a passion for his Canadian home and the wildlife that inhabits it. Carving in alabaster and soapstone, Vance creates imaginative works that personify his favorite subjects, bears and other animals which reflect a sense of curiosity and playful spirit.
"Bears are like big kids that never really grow up. So I can get away with protraying a lot human qualities in them. I like to explore the more playful, curious aspects of bears", say Vance.
Artists' painting and carving demonstration, Saturday, September 3, 11-2 pm.
Artists' Reception, Saturday, September 3, 5-8 pm

Travelling to far off lands feeds Paul Paquette's appetite for the ancient, exotic and foreign, yet he has never tired of exploring subjects close to his home on Canada's west coast. Paul revels in the abstract realism of tree branches as they twist and reach skywards, or in the interplay of light and shadow in sunbathed leaves. It is Paul's affinity for nature that emerges in his paintings.
Please enjoy this preview of new works inspired by nature's finest. Paul Paquette will be present for the opening exhibition on Saturday, January 15th, 2011, 5-8pm. |
